SEVEN WONDERS OF THE WORLD

The jet's waiting, and we're off to the ancient Mediterranean World for a stop at each of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. We'll let you in on a secret, too - there were more than just seven wonders! Intrigued? Well, make your list of the others before you open the pages, and then see how many you had right.

For the wonders, we'll head first to Egypt where CALLIOPE ®'s friend is waiting to take us inside Khufu's final resting place. Then, it's a quick hop to Babylon to learn why and how it's gardens could 'hang' - rather than rise up toward the sun. Next is Olympia in Greece, the site of the Olympic Games. But, no contests this time, Rather, we'll search for clues to one of the largest statues in the ancient world, and learn why the figure was sculpted sitting down rather than standing. Back to the Middle East - actually we are working through our list chronologically - so we backtrack now and then. Well ­. . . can't spoil the suspense. Check out the issue to learn the other four.
