SPANISH AMERICAN WAR

At the turn of the 20th century, the United States went from a small nation to an international power. The Spanish-American War in 1898 was largely responsible for the new image. In this issue, we touch upon the new steel Navy that gave the United States remarkable success in the naval battles of the war. You can meet some of the more famous naval commanders and two famous Cavalry troops - the Rough Riders and the buffalo soldiers - who played important roles in the land battles.
