CIVIL WAR,CHILD'S VIEW
In this issue, the focus is on the experiences of children during the Civil War. Most of the articles included in the issue are about real children and their roles as musicians (fifers, drummers, and buglers), boy soldiers, nurses, slave protectors, home defenders, and spies. You will meet both boys and girls, northerner and southerners. There is also an article about children Civil War re-enactors and an activity on how writing letters helps us keep in touch while preserving pieces of our own history.
