Mongolia is located in Central Asia between Russia and China. About half of Mongolia's population follow a nomadic lifestyle. They travel from place to place with their herds in search of water and food. They take their ger, or moveable house with them. Because of its nomadic history, horses are highly valued in Mongolian society. Horseracing is a favorite sport. At the annual Naadam Festival, athletes compete in racing, wrestling, and archery.
