OIL & ITS IMPACT ON CULTURE

It's been called black gold, Texas tea and if you find it, it could make you a millionaire. Without this precious substance, oil, which is pulled up from the depths of the earth, the world would never have seen plastic, gasoline engines, or oil-burning furnaces. Since its discovery, however, oil and the many products made from oil have revolutionized practically every industry and been a blessing and curse for humankind. Today, there are few products that if not made directly from oil, need oil to be produced. Not surprisingly, the diminishment of this resource is the source of conflict throughout the world.
