Heard of trickster tales? How about Brer Rabbit and the Flying Africans? Reading folktales and folklore can be fun and exciting, but what makes them even better is understanding just what they mean and who first told them. So, join us for a fun-filled adventure that will have you laughing and thinking at the same time. We’ll travel the world and through several time periods to catch you up on the “real story” behind the tales you hear today. And, you’ll meet two storytellers that have continued the tradition: Daisy Turner and Brother Blue. As an added treat, FOOTSTEPS invited an author to offer a bit of instruction how you, too, can tell folktales. See you in May — and, you might want to come prepared with your own bits of lore.
