WILDFIRE: SCIENCE TO THE RESCUE

In recent years, wildfires have roared through the Southwest, threatening homes, lives, and California's irreplaceable giant sequoias. The fires have their own dynamics and their own weather, and to fight them successfully you need to understand, tolerate, and sometimes even encourage the natural forces that drive them. We'll see how they start, how they spread, how to fight them, and the role they play in nature.
