CHICAGO - ePals Children's Publishing division (formerly Carus Publishing), is delighted to announce that six of its magazines will be available in classroom subscription sets at First Book. With a mission to bring quality reading material to underserved children, First Book has, until now, sold only high quality books.
On March 22, teachers and program leaders who work with children from low-income families (70% free and reduced lunch population) will be able to purchase any of our magazines in one-year subscriptions sets at 50% off the retail price. A new Magazine Subscription Set lets teachers receive an annual subscription with two copies of five different magazines.
"The mission of our company has always been to expose children to the best literature and nonfiction possible so that they can experience the joy of reading and learning. Our partnership with First Book will make our products easier to provide to children in need." said Jason Patenaude, President of ePals Children's Publishing. "We're honored that First Book selected our magazines as the first non-book offerings on First Book Marketplace."
"We couldn't be more excited about teaming up with ePals to provide these great children's magazines to the schools and programs in our national network," said Kyle Zimmer, president and CEO of First Book. "The best way we know of to transform the lives of kids from low-income families is to ensure that they become strong, capable readers, and magazines like CRICKET are exactly what's needed - high-quality content that they'll be excited to read. It sounds so simple, but we know that it works."
