HENRY FORD AND THE MODEL T
Many inventors and innovations went into creating the first cars at the turn of the 19th century. But one man, Henry Ford, had a vision to offer this new mode of transportation to average Americans. To make his cars affordable, he made improvements on the production of his vehicles, adapting the assembly line process to allow each worker in his factory to be responsible for just one aspect of car building. We'll describe the evolution of the automobile in the March issue and explore how one man's determination to mass produce an affordable car changed how Americans worked and played.
