LADYBUG ® Teacher's GuidesTeacher's guides from September 2006 through present were prepared by Gail Hennessey. Ms Hennessey taught social studies in New York State for 33 years. In 1988, she was named Outstanding Elementary Social Studies Classroom Teacher of the Year from the New York State Council for the Social Studies and also named Outstanding Elementary Social Studies Teacher of the Year by the National Council for the Social Studies. She writes often for children's publications and is the author of six books for teachers and students. Teacher's guides from September 2005 through May 2006 were prepared by Mary Shea, Ph.D. Dr. Shea teaches graduate literacy courses and directs the Graduate Literacy Program at Canisius College in Buffalo, NY. She has been writing teacher's guides for APPLESEEDS and COBBLESTONE ® magazines for several years and has also published several textbooks. 2008
